    Partnering With VU Scholarships: A Win-Win for Districts and Students

    Twelve weeks ago, I shared a teaser video about something big in the works. Today, I finally get to reveal it. The contracts were signed, and we are officially ready to begin. 

    On April 17, 2025, I first connected with a company that operates an impressive scholarship program for schools. From the moment I heard about it, I knew it was something I wanted for my district—and for students everywhere. While VU Scholarships typically partners with districts and colleges, and I usually work independently, we spent months brainstorming how to collaborate.

    On August 29, 2025, that vision became reality. I am proud to announce my official partnership with VU Scholarships!

    What is VU Scholarships?

    VU Scholarships is a groundbreaking scholarship-matching platform that flips the traditional admissions process. Instead of students applying to colleges and waiting to see what aid might come, colleges proactively offer scholarships first, before students even apply.

     Colleges and Districts Already On Board

    VU Scholarships has an impressive and growing reach. The colleges represented through VU are located in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Texas.

     

    They already serve over 75 school districts and partner with more than 30 universities—and the list continues to expand. As new colleges join, students automatically receive additional scholarship offers from those institutions, opening up even more opportunities without requiring extra effort.

    How VU Scholarships Works

    1. High School/District Signs Up
      Schools share basic information such as GPA, test scores (optional), activities, and interests.

    2. VU Matches Students with Colleges
      Partner institutions actively recruit students by sending personalized, merit-based scholarship offers.

    3. Students Receive Scholarship Offers
      Within weeks, students see verified scholarship packages—before they even apply.

    4. Students Choose Their Path
      With no obligation, students now have real options to apply or enroll where they feel they fit best.

    5. Schools Celebrate the Wins
      Award ceremonies highlight scholarship totals, student success stories, and district achievements.

    Real Results

    If your district isn’t already working with VU Scholarships, your students are missing out. Just last week at Rockwall-Heath High School, the Classes of 2026 and 2027 were awarded over $2 billion in scholarships—before even submitting a single college application.

    And the momentum is only growing:

    Royse City High School juniors and seniors earned 8,448 scholarships, totaling $425,516,864.

    • Class of 2025: $186,268,120

    • Class of 2026: $239,248,744

     

    Celina High School, Class of 2025: Seniors were awarded an astounding 8,808 scholarships, totaling $414,174,093 in offers. This milestone highlights both the hard work of students and the life-changing impact of the VU Scholarships platform.

     

    In March 2025, Rockwall ISD partnered with VU Scholarships, bringing over $2.4 billion in early scholarship opportunities to more than 1,000 students across Rockwall High School, Rockwall-Heath High School, and Quest Academy.

     

    In August 2025, Rockwall-Heath alone reported staggering outcomes:

    • Class of 2026: $1,190,177,780

    • Class of 2027: $974,186,064

    • Combined Total: $2,164,363,844 across 43,165 scholarships

    These numbers aren’t just statistics—they represent futures changed, doors opened, and students who now know college is possible.

    Also in August, Rockwall High School juniors and seniors reached an exciting milestone when they were offered a staggering $2,345,048,064 in scholarships. This incredible achievement reflects their hard work, dedication, and the strong support system guiding them toward future success.
