PSAT Prep Tips to Maximize Your Test Score

DID YOU KNOW THAT TAKING THE PSAT 8/9 AND PSAT 10 CAN HELP YOU IMPROVE YOUR SCORE FOR THE PSAT/NMSQT? PLUS, IF YOU DO WELL, YOU COULD EVEN QUALIFY FOR THE NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WHEN YOU REACH JUNIOR YEAR! IT’S DEFINITELY WORTH TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THESE OPPORTUNITIES.
PSAT 8/9

Did you know that the PSAT 8/9 covers the same skills and knowledge as the PSAT 10, but it’s designed specifically for eighth and ninth graders? It’s a great way to prepare for the PSAT and SAT early on in your academic journey.

PSAT 10

Did you know that the PSAT 10 is the same as the PSAT/NMSQT regarding the subject matter? However, there are two key differences. First, students take it in the spring of their 10th-grade year. Second, it doesn’t qualify students for the National Merit Scholarship Program. It’s open to any student who attends a school that offers it, so it’s definitely worth considering if you’re in 10th grade!

THE COLLEGE BOARD NATIONAL RECOGNITION PROGRAMS

The College Board National Recognition Program will be opening on January 18th. This program awards academic honors to top-performing Hispanic, Black, Indigenous, and rural students. If you’re a sophomore or junior who’s eligible, you should receive an email from BigFuture inviting you to apply. Your eligibility is based on your performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSATâ„¢ 10, or AP® Exams. However, if you know someone who meets the eligibility criteria listed on their WEBSITE  but doesn’t receive an invitation in January, please encourage them to self-nominate through the College Board website.
